Non-Discrimination Policy
According to Title VII of the Civil Right Act of 1964, SCCA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
However, we are aware that the Supreme Court of the United States has now determined that sex no longer refers to male or female, but to sexual preferences such as homosexuality, bisexuality and transgender choices. SCCA will not hire employees who live a lifestyle or promote lifestyles inconsistent with the Bible.
The school is within its legal rights to refuse hiring persons who practice or promote non-Biblical lifestyles. This right is founded upon the following:
Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 - Prohibits any agency, department, or official of the United States or any State (the government) from substantially burdening a person's exercise of religion even if the burden results from a rule of general applicability, except that the government may burden a person's exercise of religion only if it demonstrates that application of the burden to the person: (1) furthers a compelling governmental interest; and (2) is the least restrictive means of furthering that compelling governmental interest.
